8. Your Website Should be Easy to Navigate.
Good navigation is fundamental to good web design - in any web site.
Users should be able to find information easily. If the navigation is not easy to use or intuitive users will quickly go elsewhere in search of information.
We expect highway signs to lead us to the right destination, the web is no different, it is a superhighway of information and without clear navigation it can be easy to get lost.
We often see ourselves in front of websites without knowing what to do next. The navigation is so well hidden or disguised that the some users simply don't know how to use it. Good navigation is a very important element in creating accessible and usable websites.
Your visitors should be able to find what they are looking for in your site within three clicks. If not, they are very likely to click off your site as quickly as they clicked on.
All Hyperlink Titles Should be Clear to Your Visitors.
It is important that your navigation is easy to read, understand and have maximum browser compatibility than to have "flashy" effects that may or may not work in an individuals browser.
Graphic images, such as buttons or tabs, should be clearly labeled and easy to read.
